Imagine!'s SmartHomes guru Greg Wellems and other members of the SmartHome team have been traveling across the state and the country giving presentations about Imagine!’s SmartHomes project to audiences at a wide variety of conferences and events. The desire of so many organizations to learn about this project serves as another reminder of how Imagine!'s SmartHomes continue to be recognized nationally as an innovative way to improve the efficiency and quality of services in the developmental disability field.

With waiting lists increasing and challenges to funding, Imagine! has engaged stakeholders from the bio-metric, data collection, adaptive technology, energy and construction communities to design and build permanently affordable, cost-effective, energy-efficient community based settings.  This session will highlight how the SmartHome program helps providers to creatively leverage technology to promote consumer independence, maintain quality of supports, improve efficiency and potentially expand services to others interested in aging in place.

The ANCOR Technology Leadership Summit: Shaping a Strategic Vision for the Implementation of Technology In Service Delivery

The day after the Coleman Institute for Cognitive Disabilities Ninth Annual Conference, the American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR) convened its first ever Technology Leadership Summit to take advantage of the opportunity to explore technology as it relates to opportunities for enhancing supports and services delivery.  Technology is a key to assisting individuals with disabilities to be more independent; addressing the direct support workforce crisis, and increasing provider efficiency.  Greg provided the keynote address for the summit.

Participants also took a tour of the Bob and Judy Charles SmartHome as part of the summit.
