Fun Night Out! |

SmartHome residents enjoyed a fun night out at the Millennium Harvest House’s FAC event this past summer. Imagine! was the featured non-profit at the event, and music, food, art, and dancing were all on display!

The Peace Project |
|
In his art class, Gerald is working on creating “Peace Poles” to be placed in front of several of Imagine!’s buildings. Peace Poles are handcrafted monuments erected the world over as international symbols of Peace. Their purpose is to spread the message “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in a different language, one on each side.

Halloween 2009 |

Gerald and other SmartHome residents dressed up and painted some pumpkins for Halloween as part of their art class.

Charles Open House |

On Saturday, October 24, close to 100 neighbors, consumers, family members, and friends attended an open house at the Bob and Judy Charles SmartHome.
Gerald pitched in and enthusiastically helped guide tours and talked about his experiences living in the home with guests.

Thanksgiving 2009 |

This past November, SmartHome residents and staff members enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving dinner thanks to Dave Query, owner of Big Red F Restaurant Group. For the 6th year, Dave donated a complete Thanksgiving dinner to over 400 Imagine! clients and their families. Thanks Dave from the SmartHome team!

Gerald Sends An Email |
|
Due to a lack of educational tools and severe physical limitations, Gerald never had the opportunity to learn how to read or write. Now, at the age of 47, he is beginning to complete full sentences and write emails using a communication device and computer interface.

Imagine! has committed to creating a zero waste work environment. As part of this process, Imagine! artist/consumers, including Charles Home resident Gerald, have been decorating recycle bins for staff members.
